Animal Glue, an adhesive commonly used for case making, is also called Protein Glue, Jelly Glue or Gelatin Glue. It is made of connective tissue and bones, and hides of animals.

It is manufactured using animal protein which is obtained by breaking, milling the bones and cooking or boiling the raw-materials. The major characteristics of protein glue are that it has strong wet tack and strong cohesion power, and it is hygroscopic in nature.

Animal Protein glue can be used for a wide range of applications:

1. Luxury packaging: presentation packaging, boxes and cases (for gift, jewelry, cutlery, sliver and glassware, leather and luxury shoes, cosmetics, wine and spirits) display, fancy sweet-boxes, board-games, and book-cases.

Protein glue basically consists of proteins and other quality additives giving its required properties. The components of the formulation are virtually biodegradable. They have no negative effect, either economic or ecological, on the recycling of paper or cardboard. It provides high tack and speed of bond, flexibility of the film, on-wrap characteristics, good adhesion on difficult substrates, machine clean running, no swelling or waving of paper, zero health risk during operation, as well as biodegradable and highly recyclable.
